Common Document Template Issues

This guide will outline common issues experienced with document templates and how they can be resolved.

1. Formatting Issues

If you have uploaded a word document into the document editor, you may experience issues with formatting.

One common fix to this is to save your word document as a PDF and upload the PDF document into the document editor. You can save the document as a PDF in the word document itself:

This usually fixes issues such as text formatting incorrectly or images not loading correctly.

2. Duplicated Document Template Merge Fields

If you have duplicated a document template and want to edit the merge fields date/time format, you may experience issues with this not saving.

Once you load the duplicated document template, you will need to refresh your page. Once that is done, you then should be able to edit the date/time formats of merge fields.

3. Table lines not displaying correctly

When sending out a document template to an employee that has a table, you may notice that the table frames are not displaying. Clicking on 'Frames' under 'Table Layout' will let you display the table frames. Highlighting the whole table and selecting 'All Frames' will ensure employees see the table frames:
