Setting up a Question and Answer Section Rating Scale

Question and Answer rating scales can only be used for multiple choice questions within a Question and Answer section on a section-specific appraisal form.

This article explains how to set up a Question and Answer rating scale.

Navigate to: Performance >> Rating Scales >> Add New Rating Scale

1. Select Question & Answer Section.

2. Click OK.

3. Enter a Description.

4. Enter a unique Code.

5. Select the Sort Order.

6. Click Save.

Rating Scale Levels Tab

Select the Rating Scale Levels tab to set up the required number of levels you want to be available on the scale.

Use the following instructions to add each level:

1. Click Add New.

2. Enter the Answer for the level.

3. Enter the Numeric Value to give to the answer.

4. Select the Sort Order.

5. Click Save and Close.

Note:

The Numeric Value field only links a number to the rating scale level, it does not impact on the scoring of an appraisal form.
It is possible to export the Numeric Value to excel to enable you to score the answers outside of the system.
