Lost Entitlement

The Lost Entitlement field on an accrual record displays the total amount of entitlement that an employee has lost, in that accrual year, as a result of:

  • A Positive Carry Over restriction, and/or
  • A Maximum Entitlement restriction.

1. Lost Entitlement Due to a Positive Carry Over Restriction

The amount of remaining entitlement from the previous accrual year that could not be carried forward, because of a Positive Carry Over restriction, and is therefore lost.

2. Lost Entitlement Due to a Maximum Entitlement Restriction

The amount of total entitlement (accrued entitlement + carry over + adjustments) that is lost in an accrual year because a Maximum Entitlement restriction has been set.

2. Lost Entitlement Due to a Maximum Entitlement Restriction
  • Accrued Entitlement (30.00) + Adjustments (6.00) = 36.00 days
  • Maximum Entitlement = 35.00 days
  • Total Entitlement restricted to 35.00 days
  • Lost Entitlement = 1.00 days

Note:

  • If a maximum entitlement amount is not set and a very high carry over restriction is set (e.g. 999) then the Lost Entitlement amount will probably always be 0.00.
