Performance Autosave

The Autosave feature in Cezanne helps prevent employees and managers from losing their changes when completing performance appraisals.

This article gives an overview of how the Autosave function works.

Note:

  • The Autosave feature is ON by default and it is not possible to switch it OFF.
  • The Autosave functionality only applies to appraisal forms. Therefore, it does not work for other subject types in a Performance process, e.g. Goals or Documents.
  • If a user clicks Finish Task Later or navigates away, the system will not automatically save and the usual 'There are unsaved changes' prompt will be displayed.

Rules

There are a number of rules that apply to the Autosave function:

  • If any change has been made on an Appraisal Form, the green Save button will appear at the top of the screen. If no subsequent changes are made by the user, the appraisal will attempt to save automatically after 3 Minutes of inactivity.
  • The Autosave function is fixed at 3 minutes and cannot be changed.
  • Continuously working on an appraisal will prevent autosaving.
  • If there has been less than 3 minutes of inactivity and the user makes another change then the timer starts again without a save happening automatically.
  • If you close the browser tab or a user's session times out before you save, or before the appraisal automatically saves then any unsaved changes will still be lost.

Note:

  • If an error is raised during autosave, then the error will still be raised as a pop-up. If this is left, then it is possible the session will then timeout and any changes will be lost as this will prevent autosave.
  • Autosave does not happen for any changes to Development Needs on form sections.
